Alex Wiss Is Our New CTO and We’re Changing How We Work

We have some big news to share. Alex Wiss is stepping into the role of Chief Technology Officer at Lovelytics. Most of you already know Alex. He has spent his whole career in consulting solving hard technical problems while always thinking “there has to be a better way.”

The title is new but the goal is the same. Alex is going to keep working directly with our clients helping them solve their hardest problems. He is also taking over our innovation strategy team with the dream of shifting how we actually get work done.

Moving toward outcomes

Consulting has always been about selling hours. We want to stop doing that. We believe engineering is a tool to get to a result. It is not the final product.

As CTO, Alex is pushing us toward a model based on outcomes. We want to be judged by the value we create rather than the time we spend. Technology is only the tool we use to build; the faster we can get to that value, the faster  everyone wins.

What this looks like in practice

We are changing our toolset and our service lines to make this happen. Here are a few things Alex is leading right now.

  • AI-driven tools and accelerators. We are building tools to handle the repetitive parts of data work. This includes things like AI agents that find and fix data quality issues automatically. We are also using AI assistants for everything from speeding up heavy data engineering tasks to requirements gathering and value calculations
  • A new strategic group. Alex is spinning up a specialized team. Their only job is to help clients get a real return on their AI investments. Armed with our new AI tooling, they’ll be able to do this  more efficiently than ever before.
  • New service lines. We are expanding what we can build for you. This includes new capabilities in web and application development to support more complex AI programs and outcomes.
A word from our CEO

“I’ve worked with Alex for about a year now, and it didn’t take long to see he’s the kind of guy who just gets it,” says Scott Love, CEO of Lovelytics. “He doesn’t care about the fancy jargon or throwing tech at a problem without purpose. He cares that what we build actually works for the clients who partner with us. Having him in the CTO seat means we’re doubling down on that mindset. We’re going to be faster, and we’re going to be better because Alex is focused on the finish line.”

The goal

“I’ve been a consultant my entire career, and as long as I’ve been doing it, what we’ve been selling is time,” says Alex Wiss. “But now we’re at a unique moment where we don’t have to engage that way anymore. By using AI to accelerate the ‘how,’ we can focus entirely on delivering the ‘what’ – differentiating outcomes for our clients – and doing so faster than ever before.”
